Shrinking an image file to send it via Email
We wanted a method for reducing file size of images that "anyone" could use and which was not dependent on having extra graphics programs. Windows Paint is part of your operating system installation .
Find the image file in My Computer and then Right click on the file name
Click on “ Edit” in the drop down list

The image opens in Windows Paint. (Different versions look a bit different)
In the Home tab, Left click Resize

In Windows XP, click on Stretch/Skew

Change 100 to say 25 in Horizontal and the Vertical value changes too.

Click on OK
Now, open the drop down list in the dark blue tab in the top / lhs corner (Click on the small triangle.)

Save As jpg picture
Choose Folder and a File name "Save"
"Send in Email" probably opens your email program with the image attached but if it doesn't,
Open your Email program and send the file as an attachment.
Compare the file sizes.
