Draw your Turning Design

“Lathe” is a very simple program that has been available for about 15 years and still manages to run successfully on all versions of Windows including Vista,.

Use it to try out a turned profile. Altering proportions on screen is easier than on wood.

Download the program Lathe.zip (About 90 kb)

Put the file into a new folder eg C:// program Files/Lathe and unzip it

Double click on Lathe.exe to run the program and then

File / open

Pick a file  and double click on the name eg candle.lat

Depending on what “View” is active you will see a half profile on the bottom of the screen or a picture of a candlestick.

Click and drag any of the nodes and then change view and see the effect. Also rotate etc in the control panel
